A: This renderer ONLY works with 3DFX Voodoo graphics cards.
Q: Why does ZiNc not allow me to load hacked ROMs? You are oppressing my rights!!@!
A: We added CRC check to ZiNc 0.9 to make sure that it will only accept good dumps. This was done to make sure that people would not flood message boards with bug reports about ZiNc not running their rom when it is actually a bad dump.
Unfortunately means that region hacks are not supported. We dont care if people want to region hack their rom or replace Sophitia with Britney Spears. Go right ahead. But *we* dont want to hear about it crashing in level 5 or locking up on the end boss or whatever because you destroyed some vital code in the rom as well.
Hacking the CRC code in your modified rom is actually the worst solution. If those ´good CRC / hacked roms´ get spread then no-one can tell if its a good rom, a bad dump, a region hack that is ´safe´ or something else. If that happens we´ll be pissed and add MD5, CRC64, Adler32, etc. until its impossible to fake your checksum.
Someone has been doing a region hack using a kind of ´trainer´ program where it does not modify the rom but it modifies the rom AFTER it is loaded by ZiNc. We´re totally fine with that, cause it is pretty obvious that if your game crashes when you´re running some kind of trainer and it works if you dont, that its not ZiNc´s fault.
Just remember that if you complain about a game crashing, the first thing we´ll ask is if you´re running a trainer.

A: ZiNc does not have a graphical user interface, so that the programmers may devote maximum time to things like making more games work and making them work right. You need to either operate ZiNc from a command prompt (some call this a "DOS window") or download and use a "front end" program, such as Aldo´s. Others are being released all the time, check on the messageboard for information about them.
